Supporting You In Achieving Positive Results
Equity Institute Training
The Equity Institute is designed to help schools reimagine and reshape their culture. At its core, this training builds on the Equity through Cultural Proficiency Framework to move entire learning communities beyond compliance into transformation. Unlike traditional professional development that stops at awareness, our program guides schools in building the conditions for equity across practices, policies, operations, and resources. Participants engage in critical reflection, courageous conversations, and collaborative planning that shift not only individual behaviors but also the overall climate and culture of the school, fostering system change.
The Equity Institute is about changing the environment—not just for today, but for generations of students to come.

School culture sets the tone for every student’s learning experience. When that culture is rooted in equity and belonging, students thrive academically and socially. Teachers gain confidence in creating inclusive classrooms, and leaders develop policies that align with the values of fairness and access. The Equity Institute is about changing the environment—not just for today, but for generations of students to come. By addressing systemic barriers and designing equity action plans, schools establish a culture where diversity is valued, inclusion is practiced, and achievement is possible for all. This is the work of creating learning environments where equity is not an initiative, but a way of being.
The Equity Institute equips schools to transform their culture into one where equity and belonging are non-negotiable.

What Makes Our Training Unique
The Equity Institute is not a one-size-fits-all program—it’s a collaborative journey tailored to each school’s culture and context. What sets us apart is the way we work side-by-side with school leadership teams to take a deep, honest look at the current environment. Together, we assess the climate, culture, policies, and practices that shape everyday experiences for students and staff.
Data with purpose
We combine voices from your community with hard data to create a 5-year improvement plan that turns equity goals into daily practice.
We combine qualitative insights—voices from students, teachers, families, and community members—with quantitative data—achievement scores, discipline trends, attendance rates, and more—to create a holistic picture of where your school stands. From this foundation, we guide teams in designing and drafting a 5-year school improvement plan that is practical, measurable, and equity-driven.
The result? A roadmap for systemic change that ensures equity is not just discussed, but embedded into the very fabric of the school’s environment and culture. Schools leave with clear priorities, sustainable strategies, and a vision for transformation that grows stronger year after year.

Equity Learning Walks
Equity Learning Walks serve as a powerful data source to help schools understand the realities of their culture and climate. Conducted in collaboration with school leadership teams and the Equity Institute cohort, these walks provide a comprehensive look at the environment—not individual teachers. The purpose of the walk is to assess whether the school environment truly provides equitable opportunities for all students and their families. Together, we review data such as achievement patterns, suspensions, referrals, and AP course enrollment. We also observe common spaces and classrooms to understand how policies and practices play out in daily school life.
Additionally, we examine discipline policies, communication practices (including language accessibility for families), and procedural consistency throughout the school. The goal is not to evaluate teachers, but to surface evidence of how well the school’s systems, structures, and culture align with equity and inclusion.
Equity Learning Walks give schools an honest, data-informed view of their environment—highlighting strengths, revealing barriers, and pointing the way toward sustainable change.
Equity Focus Group
Lasting change begins with evidence, and the most powerful data comes from the voices within the school community. Our Equity Focus Groups are designed as intentional data-gathering sessions, bringing together school staff, students, and parents in safe, structured spaces. Through facilitated dialogue, we collect both qualitative insights and lived experiences that reveal the true culture of the school environment.
These focus groups allow us to uncover patterns, surface barriers, and identify opportunities that numbers alone cannot capture. Combined with other data sources, the findings provide a clear, holistic picture of the school’s climate and culture. This evidence then drives the design of equity action plans—plans rooted not in assumption, but in authentic experiences and measurable realities.
Anti-Bias Training
Bias shows up in subtle ways that shape decision-making, relationships, and opportunities. Our Anti-Bias Training helps educators and leaders identify, confront, and replace these biases with inclusive practices that foster fairness and belonging. Participants gain practical tools for self-reflection, strategies to address bias in real time, and the confidence to interrupt inequitable patterns.
Anti-Bias Hiring Practices
Representation matters—and so does the process of getting there. This training equips hiring teams with equitable frameworks to recruit, interview, and retain diverse talent. From job descriptions to final selections, we guide organizations in removing barriers, reducing bias, and building teams that reflect and serve the communities they represent.
Equitable Culturally Responsive Leadership
Leaders set the tone for belonging. This training empowers administrators, supervisors, and district leaders to model equity-driven decision-making, build culturally responsive policies, and lead with authenticity. By embracing cultural proficiency as a leadership standard, participants learn to create systems where excellence and inclusion go hand in hand.
Data Analysis for Equity
Numbers tell a story—and we teach you how to read it through an equity lens. Our Data Analysis training helps leaders and educators identify opportunity gaps, examine disparities in achievement and discipline, and move from surface-level reporting to systemic action. With our guidance, data becomes more than numbers on a chart—it becomes a roadmap for change.
